Until recently there were few sources of historical record widely available depicting the historical accounts of the major characters behind the development of Goju Ryu Karate-Do. But thankfully through the hard and dilligent work of several authors, not least the current master Morio Higaonna Sensei, extremely interesting documentation is now available covering these leading lights in our art.

Using these resources, and other resources on the internet we have tried to provide a short but (as far as possible) factual account of the history realting to our art.
